According to Darren Dreger of TSN Hockey, the New York Rangers are close to acquiring Rick Nash from the Blue Jackets. Nash finished the season with 30 goals, 29 assists.
For a team that was struggling to score in the playoffs this would be a huge boost for the Rangers. On top of that they did not trade neither Del Zotto nor McDonagh, which makes it even better. Gaborik was solid last year until he faded during the playoffs. A line of Nash, Gaborik, and Richards would be a lethal combination for the rest of the NHL and would help each other stay fresh as the season goes on.
