Josh Childress Signs With Brooklyn

Josh Childress, the 6″9 forward, formally of the Pheonix Suns has agreed in principle to a one year non-gaurenteed deal with the Brooklyn Nets.  Childress met with Avery Johnson and Billy King post his workout with the team to  finalize the deal.  Childress, 29, has had some success in the league landing him a five year 33.5 million dollar with the Suns.  They unfortunately amnestied his contract and he has been playing overseas since.  The Suns still owe Childress 21 million over the next three years.

Childress will be backing up Gerald Wallace at the SF position and adding some experienced depth to our bench.  The Nets roster is coming together nicely and is becoming one of the deepest in the East.  If Childress can regain his NBA form, he can be a nice compliment to the Nets second team.  If not, the Nets are not risking anything as the deal is non-gaurenteed.  The Nets bench is as follows:

PG: Tyshawn Taylor

PG: CJ Watson

SG: Marshon Brooks

SG: Jerry Stackhouse

SF: Toko Shengelia

SF: Keith Bogans

SF: Josh Childress

PF: Mirza Teletovic

PF: Andray Blatche

C: Reggie Evans
