Lets Get Ready To Rumble Brooklyn

A near sell-out crowd packs the Barclays Center tonight as the Brooklyn Nets open up their new franchise versus the Washington Wizards.  The Nets will be playing for the first time on their new herringbone court, in front of fans that will finally be cheering for them.  Deron Williams said, “[he] might shed a tear” in talks with reporters about his excitement and anxiety to finally be playing for a contending ball club in a city he loves.  Although tonight merely represents  a preseason game, the coaches as well as the players are bringing on a refined attitude.  Coach Avery Johnson proclaimed that ” even though it’s a preseason game, it’s still our first game in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and that means a lot for so many people”.  I, on behalf of Nets Nation, could not agree any more.  This game signifies all we have overcome as a franchise.  Playing in New Jersey with limited success, the legal battle it took to break ground at Atlantic Yards, a dying fan base and poor season after poor season.  It all accumulates unto tonight.  The Nets will be pumped, amped and ready to take on the Wizards for their first franchise W.  The Barclays will be ready, the Nets will be ready, Brooklyn are you ready?
